When will PZU pay me the insurance?
Under the rent payment insurance, PZU will provide compensation if the tenant is overdue with payments for at least 30 days and does not respond to reminders. After 30 days of non-payment, you make a claim through your simpl.rent account, fill out the form and send it with the required documents to PZU (you have 14 days to do so).
Please note that the insurer covers arrears that occurred from the start of the policy. This means that if the tenant is already in arrears at the time of purchasing the insurance, no compensation will be paid because the damage occurred before the insurance was bought.
Additionally, you can count on compensation ("loss in rent” under rent payment insurance) if the apartment is damaged and is no longer suitable for the tenant to live in. When making a claim, it's essential to have proof that the property has been damaged to the extent that it's uninhabitable, such as photographs of the apartment.
