Landlord's obligation
What is an energy performance certificate?
An EPC specifies the total energy demand (costs) of a building. During the audit, aspects such as the energy required for heating and ventilation, hot water, cooling, and in the case of non-residential buildings, also lighting, are taken into account.
From 28 April 2023, every property being sold or let must have an EPC.

Important information
What's worth knowing about the energy performance certificate?

The EPC must be handed over to the tenant at the moment of signing the tenancy agreement.

When selling or letting, the notary has the right to refuse to draw up the deed if you do not have an EPC.

Lack of an EPC may result in a fine of up to several thousand PLN.

An EPC is valid for 10 years.
