When to purchase a tenant's insurance policy?

You can purchase tenant's insurance at any time, including during the course of the lease. However, the protection does not work retroactively, meaning it does not cover damage that occurred before the contract was concluded.

The policy becomes active at the earliest on the day following the conclusion of the insurance contract and the payment of the premium. There is no waiting period, so it provides full protection from the moment it comes into effect.

The contract is concluded for 12 months, so for longer tenancies, it is important to remember to renew it.

How to buy tenant's insurance?

There are 3 paths available for purchasing tenant's insurance:

  • The tenant purchases the policy independently through the simpl.rent website.
  • The landlord purchases the policy on behalf of the tenant (the rental property owner or a letting agency).
  • The tenant receives a purchase invitation from the landlord (via simpl.rent).

When using an invitation, the process is simplified – just click the link received from the address info@simpl.rent or from the landlord/agent, select a package, and fill in the missing details.

To buy tenant's insurance:

  1. Go to the purchase page and select the appropriate package.
  2. Complete your details: first name, last name, and nationality. Provide your PESEL number.
  3. If the tenant has a PESEL number, providing it is mandatory. If they do not have a PESEL number, check the "I do not have a PESEL number" option and provide the date of birth.
  4. Choose the day from which the insurance is to be effective. The insurance can become effective from the next calendar day at the earliest.
  5. Provide the address of the rented property for which you are purchasing the insurance.
  6. Check the required consents.
  7. Create an account or log in to an existing one.
  8. Make the payment.

The policy conclusion process has been simplified to a minimum to allow the property to be covered by protection within a few minutes.
