How to make a claim?

Claims can be made by both the insured party (e.g., you as the tenant) and the injured party (e.g., the property owner) within a maximum of 7 days from the occurrence or discovery of the damage. The insurer will request a statement by the person responsible for the damage.

Claims should be made directly to the PZU insurer. This can be done through various methods:

  • By email, sending a message to
  • By filling out a form on the website
  • By phone at 801 102 102 (charges according to the operator’s tariff) or 22 566 55 55 (charges according to the operator’s tariff)
  • Via video chat on the PZU website.

The Customer Care representative may request:

  • Documents confirming ownership of the damaged property, such as a receipt or invoice.
  • Tenancy agreement (or rental/accommodation agreement).
  • Instructions for the payment of compensation for damaged property issued by the property owner.
  • A statement from the person responsible for the damage, information about the circumstances of the damage, and any wrongdoing (electronic forms are accepted, with the contact number of the person responsible for the damage provided).
  • Detailed information about the property, if not available from ownership documents (e.g., for a damaged TV, this would include model/purchase date details).
It’s important to remember that claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and the Customer Care representative may also request additional relevant information necessary for the claim’s review.
