What is, and what are the variants of Home Assistance insurance?

It is your home assistance when something unpleasant happens in your apartment. You gain the organisation of specialist assistance and coverage of costs, for example, in the event of a plumbing installation failure.

Insurance coverage amount: Depending on the service

What do you protect? With this insurance, you will receive support when something unpleasant happens in your home. The insurer will arrange professional assistance for you and cover the costs of services, for instance, when a pipe bursts in your apartment, the lock on your door breaks, or your property is damaged due to a fire.

What are you protected against? The main difference between the basic Home Assistance and Home Assistance Super Plus insurance options is the scope of coverage. Here are some examples of situations in which PZU will assist you under the basic option:

  • You lose the keys to your apartment, and the locks on your doors need to be replaced.
  • There is an electrical installation failure, and you need the support of a specialist to diagnose the cause.
  • Your apartment becomes uninhabitable due to a fire, and you need assistance in organising your stay in a hotel with your family, including transportation to and from the hotel.

The assistance provided under the Plus option is much broader and includes the following:

  • Coverage of the costs of necessary parts and materials for repairs.
  • Organisation and payment for temporary accommodation in a substitute apartment, as well as transportation to and from the substitute apartment.
  • Organisation and payment for the protection of your property in the event of a fire, burglary, or hurricane.
  • Advice from a security specialist if someone breaks into your apartment.
  • Payment for remote diagnostics and repair of your computer in case of issues like virus infections.
  • Organisation and payment for the repair of household appliances and electronic devices in your apartment or at a repair shop (equipment age limited to 5 years from the production date).
  • Pest control, extermination, or removal of nests when pests such as mice, cockroaches, or wasps appear in your apartment.

Exclusions Please note that PZU may not always provide compensation, for example, when:

  • The failure is due to the natural wear and tear of parts or materials.
  • The damage resulted from willful misconduct or gross negligence.
  • It concerns batteries that are part of fixtures.
  • Repair is possible under an existing warranty.
  • The damage involves light bulbs, fuses, underground pipes, sewage systems, water supply, or power lines.
  • The failure is caused by illegal software or relates to computer games.
  • The service involves data recovery.
  • The damage is related to the scratching, scratching, staining, or change of colour of items.
  • The damage resulted from willful misconduct or gross negligence.
